Millard West 11

Tyler Niederklein earned his first win of the year with offensive help from Brett Bass who was 4-for-4 with a HR.  Alex Miller had a two-run bomb and earned the save.  LSW's Mark Korsakas also homered for the SilverHawks who were 0-2 on the day. 

Lincoln Southwest 9
Millard West 11 Brandon Bass had 2 home runs, Alex Miller had his 2nd of the day, Chase Saxton took one deep and Tyler Ware had a walk-off to go along with a double and a  triple as the Wildcats pounded out 8 extra base hits to finally get rid of LNE in 9 innings.
L. Northeast 10 (9 innings)
Westside 10 Dylan Flott was 3 for 3 and Andrew Dahir was 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs for Westside. Peter Thomas threw a complete game five-hitter.
Lincoln Northeast 0 (5 inn.)
Westside 7 Chris Williams threw a complete game shutout and struck out six for Westside. Bear Opitz and Kyle Hartman each had 2 RBIs for the Warriors.
Lincoln Southwest 0
Omaha Bryan 14 Cody Kottich and Aaron Beil each had a two run homer for the Bears. Brandon Herring threw five innings for his first win of the season. Six Bear players had two hits.
Yutan 4
Papio LaVista 9 Papio improves to 2-0 as the Monarchs prevail in their home opener.  Papio scored 3 runs on 4 hits in the first inning, added 2 more in the 2nd on a Joey Jones double, 2 unearned in the 3rd and two more in the 6th on a Jacob Krska base hit.  Three Monarch pitchers combined for a 3 hitter as John Sorenson earned the win, allowing only one hit in  4 innings. 
Omaha Northwest 1
Ralston 7 Millard North jumped on top with three runs in the bottom of the first but was held scoreless the rest of the way.  Ralston put up three runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth.  Tyler Grashorn earned the win, throwing three innings of scoreless relief.  Andy Smolinski had a double and 2 RBI's to lead Ralston offensively.
Millard North 3
Beatrice 7 Sam Busboom went six innings for the win, striking out three and walking none. Mitch Randel and Justin Coleman each hit two-runs singles in the sixth for Beatrice.
Omaha Gross 3
Bellevue West 16 Zach Weeks had five RBIs and Cory Ridenour had 13 strikeouts for Bellevue West in five innings.
Omaha South 1 (5 inn.)
Elkhorn 10 Elkhorn spoils Blair's season opener while improving to 2-0.  Jake Long went 2 for 3 with two runs, three RBIs and a home run for the Antlers.  Rob Wheeler got the win.
Blair 0 (6 innings)
Lincoln East 10 Wilson Hinze hit a three-run home run in the first inning for East.  A.J. Spanel doubled and tripled for Norfolk.  Alex Lux earned the win for the Spartans in the first game of the double-header at Den Hartog.
Norfolk 3
Lincoln East 9 In the second game, Lux cleared the bases with a three-run triple, and Jacob Thompson had a two-run homer.  Metzger earned the win as the Spartans take two wins into Monday's contest against Lincoln Southeast (0-0).
Norfolk 4
Wahoo 9 Wahoo overcame a 7-3 deficit by scoring six in the bottom of the sixth and held Norris scoreless in the top of the 7th for the win in the Wahoo Triangular. 
Norris 7
Norris 6 A South Sioux rally in the top of the 7th fell short as Norris improves to 3-1 on the season.  Evan Ehmen pitched a four-hitter, striking out seven for Norris.
South Sioux City 5
South Sioux City 14 All three teams in the Wahoo Triangular post 1-1 records on the day as South Sioux runs away from the home team.
Wahoo 3 (6 innings)
Millard South 15

Millard South pounded out an 8-0 lead in the first 3 innings against 3-0 Central to back a strong pitching performance by Dylan Vogt.  Ty Kildow returned to action with a lead-off double to start the game.  Colton Thomas and Brad McKewon each had 3 hits, including a HR for Thomas, a recent Bellevue University signee.  Josh Samuelson homered for Central, his 2nd in two games.  Brad Benes picked up his twelfth RBI of the season for the Eagles.

Omaha Central 3
Papillion LaVista South 11 Beau Suponchick had a double and a triple. Ethan Schroeder picked up his first Varsity win in 3 innings of relief as the Titans go to 2 -0. Stephen Bougher pitched the 7th inning to earn the save.
Bellevue East 8
Columbus 11 Justin VanDyke was 4-for-4 with 2 dbls and 3 RBI's and sparked a late rally as the Discovers overcame an early 4 run deficit.  James Landholm threw 3 2/3 innings shutout innings in relief for the win.  Feldhous took the loss for Roncalli (not Alex Terry as was earlier reported).   
Omaha Roncalli 4
Omaha Roncalli 12 In the second game, Kurt Farmer was 3-for-3 with a HR, but Roncalli scored 4 in the 1st, 1 in the second and 7 in the 3rd to jump out to a big lead early behind a fine pitching performance by Dylan Badura, who went the distance for a 5-hitter with 4 K's.
Columbus 1 (5 innings)
Crete 4 Crete improved to 2-0 with a home-opener win over Seward.  Robbie Sattler earned the win for the Cardinals.  Connor Steward doubled for Seward.  The win by the 2nd year Crete programequals last year's win total.

Papillion LaVista South scored 6 unearned runs to win 7-2. Stephen Bougher, Bob Greco, & Josh Homme each pitched 2 innings for the 1- 0 Titans.

Gretna 2
Norris 13 Spencer Evans and Ben Oltman led Norris to a 2-0 start on the season with three hits apiece.  Sophomore Zach Tebo struck out 8 in five innings to earn the win over newcomer Waverly.

Omaha Central  24

The Eagles come back from an 11-3 deficit to win their home opener.  Brad Benes and Josh Samuelson hit back-to-back HR's, one of two on the night for Benes who had six RBI's and has 11 on the season.  Conor Kingsbury also went deep for the Bulldogs.

Burke 14
Elkhorn 3

In a dandy at Skutt between the Class B State Champ and Runner-Up, Andrew Simpson scored the go ahead run in the top of the 8th on Zach Hoock's double, then earned the win on the mound by retiring the SkyHawks in his second inning of relief.

Omaha Bryan 8 Jesse Glasgow pitched four innings of relief to earn the win in the Bears' season opener. Glasgow, Juan Rodriguez and JD Urban had two hits apiece for Bryan.

Nebraska City 1 Logan Ehlers threw a PERFECT GAME,  striking out 15.   Alex Heideman pitched 6 innings for Pius, allowing 2 hits and 1 run, striking out 7 in a losing effort.
Lincoln Pius 0
Millard North 7 Matt Klein, a junior catcher, and Dawson Porter, a sophomore third-baseman, each homered and drove in three runs for the Mustangs.  Jacob Swift earned the win and Jaxkson Hultman got the save.
Grand Island 3
Grand Island 14 GI's Nathan Zook got a birthday win in relief and hit a double after hitting a HR and a triple in Game 1.   A.J. Scheetz, younger brother of Ryan, took the loss in relief.
Millard North 12
Omaha Gross 9 North jumped out for two runs in the top of the first, prompting a call to the bullpen for senior Eric Brooner who went the rest of the way, allowing only one more run and striking out five for the win.   Chris Lewis and Tom Jurgensen doubled for the Cougars.
Omaha North 3
Fremont Bergan 10

Bergan's Warren Drucker threw a complete 5-inning, one-hitter, striking out 7. Benson committed 5 errors in the game and allowed 8 runs in the bottom of the 5th.  The Bergan offense was led by Taylor Patrick, Alex Kortan and Manes - all of whom doubled for the Knights.

Papio jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and held the Warriors hitless through four innings behind a strong pitching performance by Monarch senior right-hander Nick Yost.  After Yost came out, the Warriors fought their way back, but fell short.

Omaha Benson 11 Corban Williams and Paul Morrow homered for the Bunnies who follow up a 15-win summer with a season-opening win.

Jimmy Kuzelka earned his first Varsity Win on the mound.  Brad Benes had 2 hits and 3 rbi’s and Brian Tabler had 1 hit and 1 rbi

Steve Tatum picked up the victory and added 3 K’s.  Carter Cahill had 3 hits and 1 RBI and Brad Benes added 2 more hits and 2 rbi’s.

Crete 9 The Chieftains fall to the 2nd year Cardinals in the first-ever game for their new program.  Crete scored 6 runs in the top of the 7th to overcome a 4-3 deficit. Brandyn Smith had a 3 -run triple and Tyler Peitzmeier pitched 5 innings of 3 hit ball for Yutan. He walked 3 and struck out 6 while giving up no earned runs. Sattler had 2 doubles and 2 RBI's for Crete and Mach had a triple and an RBI. Walker had 2 hits. Mach, Sattler, and McGinnis all scored twice for the Cardinals.

Skutt Alum Walz Gets Win Over #4 Arizona State

University of Kansas righthander T.J. Walz earned a big win Saturday over the #4 team in the nation as the Jayhawks defeated  Arizona State, 3-2, on the road.  The former Omaha Skutt standout threw 6 1/3 innings and allowed two runs on six hits with just one walk and six strikeouts.  During one stretch, he retired ten of twelve batters faced.  It was the second win of the season for Walz as the Jayhawks improved to 10-4.  It was only the third loss of the season for the Sun Devils against thirteen wins.  | Game Summary | T.J.
